Project Worker 1 (6141)


We are looking to appoint a Project Worker to provide support to young people with a disability or learning difficulty aged 0-25 years and their families across the East Riding. The postholder will be based part-time in the office and also cover sessions in the locality.  As weekend and evening work will be part of the role, a flexible approach to working hours is essential.

You will need to be highly motivated and have a passion for engaging, supporting and empowering young people and their families. You will also assist in coordinating a bank of as & when support workers. This will involve arranging rota's to ensure all sessions are covered.


You will require:

  • Excellent writing, recording and IT skills; be organised, methodical and accurate in your daily tasks
  • Ability to engage with children, young people and families from different backgrounds and with professionals involved in their care.
  • Awareness of safeguarding vulnerable children and adults.
  • Meet medical, physical, behavioural, emotional and personal needs of the young people.  This may include personal care such as feeding/toileting, showering etc. as detailed in the care plan.
  • You will require a full driving with access to a car.


You will receive:

  • Full induction to the role and we will provide a comprehensive training package including first aid, safeguarding, care of medicines and any other child specific requirements.
  • 26 day paid annual leave plus bank holiday entitlement.
  • Monthly supervision
  • Mileage currently paid at 40p per mile and 45p when transporting a young person or colleague.
  • Robust lone and safe working protocol with on call support.
