Programme Coordinator (Schools) The PATHS® Programme for Schools (UK  and NI Version) and Social Emotional Learning programmes.

Barnardo's is seeking qualified teachers to join our team supporting schools and settings across Northern Ireland  with the implementation of Social Emotional Learning and the PATHS® Programme - promoting the positive mental health and wellbeing of children in primary schools, pre-schools and childcare settings.

The PATHS® Programme is an evidence-based whole-school social and emotional learning programme  that has been implemented and supported by Barnardo's for over 14 years.  As Programme Coordinator you will provide coaching support and whole-school/setting development  to mainstream schools/settings engaged with our SEL programmes. 

Further to this, you will support the expansion of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) within new SEND school provisions, we are extending the delivery of the PATHS® Programme to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The Programme Co-ordinator for this post will lead the implementation and development of PATHS across a number of SEND settings, providing training, guidance and ongoing implementation support to school staff. The role will ensure high-quality delivery of the programme, helping children and young people develop essential social, emotional and self-regulation skills, while building the capacity of SEND provisions to embed SEL approaches into everyday practice.

You will be part of a fantastic UK wide team and full training and support will be provided to equip you to excel in this role.

Essentially, you will have;

  • A relevant teaching degree and experience of delivering the NI curriculum
  • SEND teaching experience 
  • A high degree of flexibility to meet the needs of the service 
  • A willingness to travel to settings.
  • A full current driving licence with access to your own vehicle.   Please note: As driving is an intrinsic part of this role, applicants with a disability that prevents them from driving should be able to demonstrate an alternative means of meeting the mobility requirements of the post.

Location

Please note that this role involves regular travel across Northern Ireland, with a particular focus on supporting schools and educational settings in the north of the region. Applicants should carefully consider the travel requirements of the post and whether their home location is suitable for frequent travel to these areas.
