If so, this could be the role for you! We're looking for a Buyer to join our New Goods team on a 12-month fixed-term basis to help drive income for Retail & Trading at Barnardo's.

 

What you'll be doing.

You'll have responsibility for buying key categories including children's toys and furniture for our store estate. Your role will include range building and planning across core and seasonal ranges, generating sales in excess of £2m per year. Working closely with the merchandising team, you will take new ranges from planning to launch, react to in-season trade, and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers. This is a key role which would suit someone with buying experience within the toy trade.

 

What we're looking for:

  • Retail buying experience in a similar category or business
  • Graduate of a relevant discipline
  • Commercial awareness
  • Effective decision making and organisational skills
  • Interpersonal skills, particularly in negotiating
  • Knowledge of charity retail (desirable)
